1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe

Well, it has been 14 yrs on October 27th since dad's passing. Since then I knew that it was going to be my responsibility to take care of one of dad's prized possessions. His 1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe Coupe named "Pichirilo". Over the years it has been sitting in the garage at our Bakersfield home. On October 28, 2007, I had it towed to my house in Orange County. The car was fully restored by my father and was running in tip top shape in the photo above. That photo was taken approximately in 1988. Surprisingly enough the car is still in extremely great shape. However, it is not in a running condition. The engine has ceased up and will need to be rebuilt.
On this blog I will share images and events that occur with Pichirilo. So stay tuned to keep up with what goes on with this beautiful piece of machinery.

Hello. Love your 48 Plymouth. I had one just like it in 1979-81. It was a black Club Coupe just like yours. I had to sell it then to leave for college. Where did your father purchase the car? I've always wondered what might have happened to mine which I sold in Santa Barbara. I always dreamed of finding another. Six years ago I did locate a 47 Plymouth sedan which I have completely restored. As you probably know.. the 46 - 49 First Series Plymouths are all designated Model P15s and are for the most part identical. Please check out my restoration photo gallery at http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v455/bojeta/47%20Plymouth%20Restoration/ I think you'll enjoy it and perhaps find it useful in your restoration. Best of luck!
